China’s five provinces and autonomous regions will cover all towns and townships with charging piles next year

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China Southern Power Grid will invest 10 billion yuan to vigorously promote the construction of charging facilities. It is expected that by the end of next year, charging piles will cover all towns and villages in Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou and Hainan.

At present, 4,000 towns and villages in Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou and Hainan have installed charging piles, while about 2,000 towns and villages have no charging facilities at all, according to the report. China Southern Power Grid will build 50,000 charging piles in two years to cover all townships. Township transportation hubs, municipal squares and commercial centers will be the key areas of this round of charging pile construction.

At present, the construction of charging facilities in all provinces has been fully carried out. Guangdong is expected to take the lead in realizing the full coverage of charging piles in villages and towns in the first half of this year. Guizhou will ensure that charging piles will be installed in all 5A scenic spots and highway service areas in townships and towns this year. Guangxi will further optimize the “10-minute charging circle”, allowing each county to have large centralized charging stations.
